Das Black Sheep Hostel is located in El Poblado on of the best and safest neighbourhoods in Medellin. There is a shopping mall and the metro station El Poblado nearby. Also close by most of the Medellin nightlife happens. The Parque El Poblado and the party area of the arque Lleras are not far away from the hotel but still distant enough so that it will be quiet at the hostel at night. Apart from that the Toucan Spanish School as well as the EAFIT university are close by for the people that intend to learn Spanish.

Apart from the perfect location near the nightlife of Medellin you will have your breakfast included in the price for a night. Furthermore, you will find shops around that are open for 24 hours. The Hostel itself is very well equipped with a very stylish interior and spread a very laidback vibe. Despite being close to the party area Parque Lleras this is a very quiet and laidback place.

Why should You book the Secret Buddah?
The Secret Buddah has been voted by the newspaper El Tiempo amongst the Top 3 Hostels in Colombia. The Hostel is located in La Estrella not far from the shopping mall Mallorca in Sabaneta. If you are rather looking for something quiet, a little outside the centre, this will definitely be your place. The metro station is very close to the hostel so that you can get to the city centre easily. A suitable place for couples and for people that want to relax.

Why the El Genoves?
Generally, it is not easy to find good accommodation with a good value for money in Cartagena. The Genoves is very well located in the old historic city centre between cosy cobblestone streets close to plenty of bars and restaurants. Additionally, you have a pool here which is not too bad considering the heat in Cartagena. If you are looking for a party hostel, then check out the next one.

What makes the Dreamer so great?
It is probably the most famous Hostel in Santa Marta and there is definitely reason for it. In 2014 it was voted the best Hostel in Colombia. The Hostel is equipped with a pool and a pool table. This place is rather a party hostel and perfect for socialising. If you are looking for a quiet place you might want to choose a different place. The rooms are very clean and the staff very friendly. You should try the Mojito.

Why is La Guaca one of the best hostels?
Beautiful and clean Hostel a little further outside the historical city centre. Here you will find a lovely little pool that is definitely an advantage to have with the hot weather in Santa Marta. The staff is incredibly friendly and the place very laid back. Rather a quiet place and not really suitable for the party people. For the party goers you should rather consider The Dreamer Hostel.

What makes the dream a great Hostel?
Like in Santa Marta there is another Dreamer Hostel in Palomino which is of very similar quality and also a great place to meet new people. Apart from that it is just a few metres from the beach and a cosy beach bar. For the lazy people that don’t manage to go to the beach there is also a pool.

The Tiki Hut is a relatively new hostel in Palomino. The lovingly designed Cabanas make the Tiki Hut something special. In the middle of the facilities is a very nice pool to cool off in the tropical heat. The atmosphere is very relaxed and the owners are very lovely and helpful. Additionally, the Tiki Hut is just a few metres from the beach and some shops. The food and the cocktails are quite good as well.

Why choose the Casa Loma?
The Casa Loma is located on the hill above the village of Minca. From here you have an incredible view of Santa Marta. Especially the sunset is wonderful to watch and also in the even hours the view of the lights of Santa Marta is amazing. Apart from the great view, the food at Casa Loma is also pretty good and you should definitely try it. From here you can start planning your hikes to the waterfalls or a coffee farm.

From here you also have a great view and you are not far away from the village. The La Cascada Perdida, Las Piedras, Pozo Azul are close by and easy to reach by foot. This is a great place to relax.

This place is the meeting point for backpackers in Guatape. Very nice and laidback atmosphere where you feel like belonging to a community. The guests, the owner Pablo and the staff spend a lot of time together and even share a bottle of rum every now and then. Here you can take a rest from the big city life. Here you can jump from the on-site stay directly into the lake and swim a few rounds.

Apart from the internal Club the location is very good. Unfortunately, there is not a big choice of Hostels in San Andres and this is how this is the only Hostel I can recommend. Maybe if you want you can rent an apartment and will even give you 28 Euros for free if you sign up on AirBnB here
